Important Reminder

Keep all tax documents for at least 3 years from the date you filed (7 years recommended). The IRS can audit returns for up to 3 years, or 6 years if income was underreported by more than 25%. (IRS Publication 552)

Your IRS Submission ID (DLN) is on your acceptance notice
Save the acceptance date — this is your official filing date
Keep a copy of your complete tax return (Form 1040 + all schedules)
Store your e-file confirmation in a secure location for at least 7 years (IRS Pub 552)
Visit IRS.gov/refunds or use the IRS2Go mobile app
You'll need: SSN, filing status, and exact refund amount
Refund status is typically available within 24 hours of e-file acceptance
Most refunds are issued within 21 calendar days of acceptance
If you chose direct deposit, allow 1-5 business days after IRS release
